Creating a DEFINE for a BACKUP Operation
This example shows a TAPECATALOG DEFINE that is required for a BACKUP
operation, followed by the BACKUP command line. After the DEFINE and BACKUP
command are MEDIACOM STATUS commands used to determine the status of
outstanding tape mount requests and an INFO TAPEVOLUME command used to
determine the attributes of the tape that is selected by DSM/TC.
TACL> ADD DEFINE =TCAT,CLASS TAPECATALOG,USE OUT,FILEID
FRIDAY_BACKUP,&
TACL> & LABELS BACKUP, RETENTION 30
TACL> BACKUP =TCAT,$DATA1.*.*,BLOCKSIZE 28
