10 tape volumes returned.
Because the BACKUP program opens and closes tape drives between volumes, the
first volume is already assigned in the DSM/TC database. For the user application, the
entire volume set would be in use, then assigned when the tape drive is closed.
An alternate scratch tape named BKO003 is mounted on a second tape drive, and an
EMS message is output to verify the mount request:
000648 $ZSVR 0001 VOLUME BKO003 MOUNTED
Because DSM/TC selected the volume, any appropriate scratch tape from the pool can
be used.
This EMS tape open message is output:
000638 $ZSVR STATUS 1504 - BKO003 TAPE OPENED ON $TAPE1
A STATUS TAPEDRIVE command is used after the second volume has been opened:
MC>status tapedrive $Tape1,detail
Tape Drive $TAPE1
Drive Status INUSE
Label Type BACKUP
Tape Name BKO003
Tape Status INUSE
