Flash Firmware
Flash Firmware
The flash firmware contains version information about the operational firmware located
in the FCSA FLASH memory. Flash firmware runs the FCSAs used for system load so
the processor boot milicode can read the system-load disk.
The flash firmware is not used on NonStop S-series servers.
RAM Firmware
For disks that are not used for system load, operational firmware is downloaded to the
FCSA when you issue the first START DISK command to the first disk drive in the
Fibre Channel loop.
Manufacturing Naming Conventions
The naming convention for processes and devices relates logical names to the
physical location of devices.

is the 2-digit number that identifies the IOAM enclosure that contains the FCSA.
