FCDM Connections
When you finish using the FCSA configuration form, place it in your Documentation
Packet. For more information about the Documentation Packet, see the NonStop S-
Series Planning and Configuration Guide or the NonStop NS-Series Planning Guide.
FCDM Connections
Print the configuration forms in Appendix B, FCSA Configuration Forms for Fibre
Channel Disk Module (FCDM) Connections. When you connect the FCSA to an FCDM
or to a chain of FCDMs:
Record the shelf number (or numbers) and circle the bay numbers available for
incorporation into configured SCF disk volumes.
MIRRORPORTNAME number
MBACKUPPORTNAME number
The attribute values specify the WWNs of the
mirror primary and backup Fibre Channel
ports on the ESS. Obtain this information
from the ESS administrator. (The choices
should be guided by the overall fault-tolerant
strategy for the storage subsystem
configuration.) You can have 256 mirror port
and mirror backup ports on each FCSA SAC.
PRIMARYLUN number* The attribute value the primary and disk
volumes in the ESS for this DISK object. This
information must be provided by the ESS
administrator, and the choices should be
guided by the overall fault-tolerant strategy
for the storage subsystem configuration. You
can have 256 primary LUNs on each FCSA
SAC.
MIRRORLUN number* The attribute value specifies the primary and
mirror disk volumes for this DISK object. This
information must be provided by the ESS
administrator and the choices should be
guided by the overall fault-tolerant strategy
for the storage subsystem configuration. You
can have 256 primary and mirror LUNs on
each FCSA SAC.
Note. You can add 256 DISK objects on each FCSA SAC.
Table 2-3. SCF ADD DISK Command Attribute Names for ESS
Connections (page 2 of 2)
SCF Attribute Name/ Attribute Value Description
* Command View used by the FC switch and ESS administrators refers to the LUN in
hexadecimal format. SCF refers to the LUN in decimal format. Both the Command View and
SCF refer to the WWNs in hexadecimal format.
