FLOSS on NonStop User Manual

2 Installing the FLOSS Package
This chapter describes how to obtain, migrate, install, and uninstall the FLOSS package on a
NonStop system. Ensure that the Open System Services (OSS) environment is installed on a NonStop
operating system H06.15 or later, or J06.04 or later for FLOSS package to function correctly.
Obtaining the FLOSS Package
Based on your requirement, you can either download a supported version or an unsupported
(ITUGLIB) version of the FLOSS package.
Supported version
The supported FLOSS package is shipped as a part of NonStop RVU or you can download
it from the following website: https://onepoint.nonstop.compaq.com. This manual is applicable
only for the supported version of FLOSS package.
Unsupported version
You can download the unsupported version of FLOSS package from the ITUGLIB website. This
manual does not further cover the unsupported version of the FLOSS package. For more
information, see the README file available in the FLOSS package.
Migrating from Unsupported (ITUGLIB Version) to Supported FLOSS
Package
The supported FLOSS package is installed at /usr/local directory. If you have installed the
ITUGLIB version in this directory, back up the ITUGLIB version before installing the supported version
of FLOSS package, if required, to avoid the files being overwritten.
To install the supported version of FLOSS package, see “Installing the FLOSS Package (page 9).
Migrating from one Supported Version to Another
Installation of one version overwrites the previous version installed on the system. Before installing
the new version, you should back up the previous version of FLOSS package installed at
/usr/local directory.
To install the supported version of FLOSS package, see “Installing the FLOSS Package (page 9).
Installing the FLOSS Package
Installing the FLOSS package on a NonStop system is similar to installing other products in the
OSS environment. To install the FLOSS package, extract the PAX file (T1200PAX) using one of the
following:
Distributed Systems Management/Software Configuration Manager (DSM/SCM)
COPYOSS command
Using DSM/SCM
Perform the following steps to extract the T1200PAX file to the standard OSS directory using
DSM/SCM:
1. Obtain the product files from the disk (distribution subvolume (DSV) locations) or tape.
2. In the DSM/SCM planner interface, select the Manage OSS Files option for the target
configuration.
