Managing Maintenance Entity Firmware for the I/O Adapter
Module (IOAM)
The maintenance entity (ME) for IOAM supports the connection to processor switches
making FCSA and G4SA functionality available on an Integrity NonStop NS-series
server. The service processor (SP) supports connection of legacy IOMF enclosures to
a processor switch. This provides the Integrity NonStop NS-series server platform with
connectivity to NonStop S-Series legacy input and output controllers (IOCs) and
storage.
Managing Processor Switch Firmware
The processor switch provides maintenance and diagnostic functions for H-series
RVUs. The associated microprocessor firmware resides in all processor switch
maintenance entities present in the Integrity NonStop NS-Series server. An H-series
system contains a pair of processor switch modules (one for each ServerNet fabric).
The processor switch modules connect via ServerNet to logical H-series processors 0
through 15. The processor switch also provides connectivity to the ServerNet cluster
switches and I/O modules.
You can update two types of firmware images within the processor switch:
ME firmware
FPGA firmware
Updating ME Firmware
Table 1-1 shows the ME Processor Switch firmware file (under OSM attributes):
You use OSM Service Connection to update the firmware:
1. In the OSM Service Connection tree pane: select System > Fabric Group >
Internal ServerNet Fabric>Processor Switch>ServerNet Switch Board.
2. Right-click ServerNet Switch Board and select Actions.
3. In the Actions dialog box, select ME Firmware and click Perform Action.
4. Monitor the update.
