NonStop SQL/MX
NonStop SQL/MX
There are no functional changes between the G-series and H-series version of
NonStop SQL/MX Release 2.0. For installation and programming considerations, see
the SQL Supplement for H-Series RVUs. Note that SQL/MX on H-series is based on
SQL/MX Release 2.0 with the ABA SPRs. Interoperability between S-series and
H-series RVUs is not supported by SQL/MX on H06.03.
Installing SQL/MX Release 2.0
Check that the HP NonStop Transaction Management Facility (TMF) is configured and
running on the system node where you will install SQL/MX. See the TMF Planning and
Configuration Guide for TMF installation guidelines. Note that all SQL/MX objects must
reside on volumes audited by TMF. SQL/MX program files do not need to reside on
audited volumes.
Before installing SQL/MX, review the SQL/MX Installation and Management Guide.
Make sure that you have performed all preinstallation instructions as outlined in
Sections 1 and 2. Section 3 describes, in detail, how to install SQL/MX.
You install SQL/MX after performing a system load and performing other post-
installation steps.
OSS
See the Open System Services Management and Operations Guide and the Open
System Services Installation Guide for information about updating and maintaining
OSS database files. See the IUG 2 for new OSS features and for a summary of
migration or installation issues.
For those products that are not managed by DSM/SCM, you must install them using
COPYOSS or PINSTALL or both.
If any OSS files are managed by DSM/SCM, use PINSTALL on the remaining pax
archives. See the OSS Management and Operations Guide for a description of
PINSTALL use or the pinstall(1) reference page in the OSS Shell and Utilities
Reference Manual.
If no OSS files are managed by DSM/SCM, use COPYOSS for all of the OSS pax
archives in the ZOSSUTL subvolume. See the OSS Management and Operations
Guide for a description of COPYOSS use or the copyoss(8) reference page in
the OSS Shell and Utilities Reference Manual. Then use PINSTALL to install any
pax archives in other subvolumes. See the OSS Management and Operations
Guide for a description of PINSTALL use, or the pinstall(1) reference page in
the OSS Shell and Utilities Reference Manual.
See also the appropriate product’s softdoc for any pre- or post installation instructions.
