About This Manual
This manual is intended to assist network planners in evaluating the solutions provided
by Tandem NonStop systems to support IBMs Systems Network Architecture (SNA)—
including advanced peer-to-peer networking (APPN) and advanced program-to-program
communication (APPC).
This manual describes information for the following:
Some understanding of data communications terminology is assumed, although essential
SNA terms are briefly introduced.
