A Uninstalling NonStop I/O Essentials
Uninstalling NonStop I/O Essentials requires two or more of the following steps, depending on
your client configuration:
• “Uninstall the Client Component from a Windows Console” (page 18)
• “Uninstall the Client Component from a Linux CMS” (page 18)
• “Uninstall the NonStop Server Component” (page 18)
Uninstall the Client Component from a Windows Console
From the Start menu, select HP NonStop IO Essentials > Uninstall HP NonStop IO Essentials.
A dialog box prompts you to confirm your intention to uninstall all NonStop I/O Essentials
components. Upon selecting “yes,” all NonStop I/O Essentials components are removed from the
console.
Uninstall the Client Component from a Linux CMS
To remove NonStop I/O Essentials from a Linux CMS, use the Uninstall feature launched from the
Applications menu shortcut for HP NonStop I/O Essentials or run the following command:
/etc/opt/hp/nce/uninstall.sh
If you cannot uninstall NonStop I/O Essentials normally – for example, if the NonStop I/O Essentials
files were removed without having run the uninstaller – you can manually erase the package
installation entry in the package manager. To do this, first determine the specific package label.
If you try to install NonStop I/O Essentials and it fails because it is already installed, the package
label is also shown automatically. Otherwise, use the following command:
rpm -q HP_NonStop_IO_Essentials
The package label will be shown; for example: HP_NonStop_IO_Essentials-1.3.0-1
Then, using the package label, type:
rpm –e package-label
For example:
rpm -e HP_NonStop_IO_Essentials-1.3.0-1
You can also do this using a graphical package manager.
Uninstall the NonStop Server Component
Perform the following steps to remove the NonStop I/O Essentials Server component (T0839) from
NonStop servers:
1. Start either the NonStop Software Essentials interface or the DSM/SCM Planner Interface.
2. Create a new software revision for your target system (cloning can be used to uninstall from
multiple target systems simultaneously).
3. Delete T0839xxx from the new revision.
(where xxx is the product version or IPM identifier)
4. Perform a Build/Apply.
