Tools and Supplies
You might need these tools and supplies when replacing a FRU:
Specialized documentation included with applicable components and devices such as:
Modular cabinet
Maintenance switch
Disk drive enclosure
Uninterruptible power supply (UPS)
Extended runtime module (ERM)
ESS
Planning for Replacing FRUs
FRUs are to be replaced only by trained technical personnel. These personnel should:
Obtain an ESD protection kit and follow the directions that come with the kit. You
can purchase ESD kits from HP using the part number given on the CSSI Web.
See System Servicing Information on the CSSI Web on page 5-11.
Make sure any ESD wriststrap has a built-in series resistor and includes an
antistatic table mat.
Not wear any metal jewelry or personal accessories, such as rings, watches, and
necklaces that can conduct electricity, causing serious or fatal personal injury and
damage to the equipment.
Know the location of an HP-approved lifting device should it be necessary to
replace a heavy FRU, such as a slice enclosure.

#1 phillips screwdriver Install SNMP card in UPS
#2 phillips screwdriver Install rails and adjust vertical cable clips
T-25 and T-30 Torx driver Loosen and tighten Torx screws
