Migrating Legacy Hardware Products to
NonStop NS-Series Servers
Connecting legacy NonStop S-series hardware to a NonStop NS-series server is only
one step in the overall migration to NonStop NS-series servers. Software and
application changes might be required to complete the migration.
Any hardware migration should be planned as part of the overall application and
software migration tasks.
The next subsections point you to the documentation for tasks involved in physically
moving legacy IOAM enclosures and NonStop S-series I/O enclosures to a NonStop
NS-series server.
IOAM Enclosures
Moving an IOAM enclosure from a NonStop S-series server to a NonStop NS-series
server is described in the NonStop NS-Series Hardware Installation Manual.
NonStop S-Series I/O Enclosures and Processor Enclosures
You can reuse NonStop S-series enclosures and most of the ServerNet adapters and
disk drives they contain in your NonStop NS-series server. For a list of supported
ServerNet adapters, disk drives, and other hardware devices, see Integrity NonStop
NS-Series Supported Hardware.
Moving an IOAM enclosure from a NonStop S-series server to a NonStop NS-series
server is described in the Integrity NonStop NS-Series Hardware Installation Manual.
