Disk Drive Enclosure
The disk drive enclosure is a rackmounted enclosure that contains:
•
Up to 14 Fibre Channel arbitrated loop disk drives (enclosure front)
•
Environmental monitoring unit (EMU) (enclosure rear)
•
Fibre Channel arbitrated loop (FC AL) modules (enclosure rear)
A disk drive enclosure connects to a FCSA in an IOAM enclosure. You can daisy-chain
together up to four disk drive enclosures with 14 drives in each one. In some
documentation for Integrity Nonstop servers, the disk drive enclosure is also referred to
as the Fibre Channel Disk Module (FCDM). This illustration show a fully populated disk
drive enclosure:

Maintenance Switch (Ethernet)
The ProCurve 2524 maintenance switch includes management features that NSAA
requires and provides the communication between the Integrity NonStop NS-series
system at the p-switches, IOAM switch boards, and optional UPS and the system
console running HP NonStop Open System Management (OSM). The maintenance
switch includes 24 ports, which is enough capacity to support multiple systems. The
