Cable Labeling

Fiber-optic cables provide all ServerNet and other I/O data signal interconnections

within Integrity NonStop NS-series systems. With the exception of the maintenance

LAN, no copper I/O interconnect cables are used. Although fiber-optic cables provide

high-speed, low latency communications, all of the cables look the same and are the

same color, usually orange.

To identify correct cable connections to factory-installed hardware, every interconnect

cable has a plastic label affixed to each end. Extra sheets of preprinted labels that you

can fill in are also provided. These labels are attached to the cable and connector and

contain information about which enclosure and connector the cable is to connect.
