P-Switch to NonStop S-Series I/O Enclosure Cabling
Integrity NonStop NS-series systems do not support SCSI buses or adapters to
connect tape devices. However, SCSI tape devices can be connected through a T1200
Fibre Channel to SCSI converter device (model M8201) that allows connection to SCSI
tape drives. For interconnect cable information and installation instructions, see the
M8201 Fibre Channel to SCSI Router Installation and User’s Guide.
This illustration shows an example communication configuration of a table-top tape
drive with ACL to an FCSA via an M8201 Fibre Channel to SCSI router:
With a tape drive connected to a server, you can use the BACKUP and RESTORE
utilities to save data to and restore data from tape.
P-Switch to NonStop S-Series I/O Enclosure
Cabling
Each NonStop S-series I/O enclosure uses one port of one PIC in each of the two
p-switches for ServerNet connection. If no IOAM enclosure is installed in the system,
Note. To enable OSM to monitor the Fibre Channel to SCSI converter, connect it to the
maintenance switch and provide OSM with its IP address. For instructions, see the M8201
Fibre Channel to SCSI Router Installation and User’s Guide.
