Two maintenance switches provide fault tolerance and extra ports for adding system
consoles. You must change the preconfigured IP addresses of the second and
subsequent system consoles before you can add them to the LAN.
Cascading Ethernet Switch or Hub Configuration
Additional Ethernet switches or hubs can be connected (cascaded) to the maintenance
switches already installed. Primary and backup system consoles and the server must
be on the same subnet.

The servers must have fault-tolerant dedicated service LAN connections to the
