FCSA to Tape Devices
Fibre Channel tape devices can be connected directly to an FCSA in an IOAM
enclosure. Integrity NonStop NS-series systems do not support SCSI buses or
adapters to connect tape devices. However, SCSI tape devices can be connected
through a Fibre Channel to SCSI converter device (model M8201R) that allows
connection to SCSI tape drives. For interconnect cable information and installation
instructions, see the M8201R Fibre Channel to SCSI Router Installation and User’s
Guide.
This illustration shows an example communication configuration of a table-top tape
drive with ACL to an FCSA via an M8201R Fibre Channel to SCSI router:
With a tape drive connected to a server, you can use the BACKUP and RESTORE
utilities to save data to and restore data from tape.
Note. To enable OSM to monitor the Fibre Channel to SCSI converter, connect it to the
maintenance switch and provide OSM with its IP address. For instructions, see the M8201R
Fibre Channel to SCSI Router Installation and Users Guide.
