Modular System Hardware
The Integrity NonStop NS14000 server uses many of the same modular hardware
components as the Integrity NonStop NS16000 server. For general descriptions of the
components, see Modular Hardware Components on page 5-1. Any differences in the
use or implementation of a particular hardware component that is specific to an
Integrity NonStop NS14000 server are described here.

NonStop Blade
Element (NSBE)
A maximum of eight Intel Itanium 1.5 GHz processors with 4-MB
cache and up to 8-MB per processor of main memory is supported.
Logical
synchronization
unit (LSU)
LSUs are connected to 4-Port ServerNet extenders (4PSEs) installed
in an IOAM enclosure. They are not connected to p-switches.
P-switch Integrity NonStop NS14000 servers do not use p-switches. Instead,
LSUs are connected to 4PSEs installed in an IOAM enclosure and
ServerNet cluster connections connect to ServerNet switch boards
also in an IOAM enclosure.
