Cable Length Restrictions
Aside from the cable length restrictions described here, the Integrity NonStop NS14000
system has similar cable length restrictions as those of the Integrity NonStop NS16000
system. See Cable Length Restrictions on page A-3.
Maximum allowable lengths of cables connecting the modular system components are:
Although a considerable cable length can exist between the modular enclosures in the
system, HP recommends that cable length between each of the enclosures be as short
as possible.
Internal Cable Part Numbers
For part numbers, see Internal Cables on page A-1.
NonStop Blade Elements to LSUs
The Integrity NonStop NS14000 system implements cabling between a NonStop Blade
Element and the LSU (see NonStop Blade Elements to LSUs on page 6-8) similarly to
the Integrity NonStop NS16000 system, with the exception that the LSUs connect
directly to 4PSEs in the IOAM enclosure. Unlike the Integrity NonStop NS16000
system, the Integrity NonStop NS14000 system does not use p-switches.
NonStop Blade Element to NonStop Blade Element
The Integrity NonStop NS14000 system implements cabling connections between
NonStop Blade Elements in the same manner as the Integrity NonStop NS16000
server. For information on this topic, see NonStop Blade Element to NonStop Blade
Element on page 6-8.
LSUs to IOAM Enclosure and Processor IDs
Each NonStop Blade Element contains four processor elements, and each element is a
part of a numbered NonStop Blade Complex, such as 0, 1, 2, or 3. The maintenance
entity (ME) firmware running in the IOAM enclosure assigns a number to each
processor element based on its connection from the LSUs to the 4PSEs in slots 2.1,

nnn indicates the length of the cable in meters. For example, M8900125 is 125 meters
long; M8900-15 is 15 meters long.
