Ethernet Cables
Ethernet Cables
Ethernet connections for a dedicated service LAN require Category 5 unshielded
twisted pair cables.
SWAN Concentrator Restriction
•
Isolate the dedicated service LAN from any ServerNet wide area network (SWAN)
on a system.
•
Isolate redundantly configured SWAN concentrator subnets from the dedicated
service LAN.
•
Do not connect SWANs on a subnet containing a DHCP.
One possible fault-tolerant configuration is a pair of G4SAs (each in a different IOAM)
with a dedicated service LAN connected to the A port on each G4SA. The B port is
then available to support the SWAN.

Fibre Channel to SCSI router
(model M8201R) (optional).
(For IP address information, see the M8201R Fibre
Channel to SCSI Router Installation and User’s Guide.)
*If a combination of dynamic and static IP addresses are used in the LAN configuration, HP recommends that the
maintenance switches and UPSs (if the system has them) be configured with static IP addresses.
**You do not need to reconfigure the IP addresses for the TCP/IP processes. For more information, see the
NonStop NS-Series Hardware Installation Manual.
