Modular Hardware
Modular Hardware
Hardware for Integrity NonStop NS16000 systems is implemented in modules, or
enclosures that are installed in modular cabinets. For descriptions of the modular
hardware components, see Section 5, Modular System Hardware.
All Integrity NonStop NS-series server components are field-replaceable units (FRUs)
that can only be serviced by service providers trained by HP.
For information about installing the Integrity NonStop NS-series server hardware, refer
to the NonStop NS-Series Hardware Installation Manual.
NonStop S-Series I/O Hardware
Equipment from NonStop S-series systems can be connected to Integrity NonStop
NS-series systems via fiber-optic ServerNet cables. This includes communications
adapters, disks with the data and applications stored on them, and tape devices in
NonStop S-series I/O enclosures equipped with IOMF 2 CRUs. The IOMF 2 CRUs
must have an MMF PIC for connection to fiber optic cables. For more information, see
NonStop S-Series I/O Enclosures on page 5-37.
System Models
The Integrity NonStop NS16000 is a model in the Integrity NonStop NS-series of
servers and includes:
Intel Itanium 1.6 GHz, 6-MB cache processors
16 processors maximum
4-GB, 8-GB, or 16-GB main memory per logical processor
16 or 32 DDR SDRAM DIMM slots
Note. Do not attempt to use NonStop S-series SEB or MSEB CRUs in NonStop S-series I/O
enclosures connected to Integrity NonStop NS16000 systems. SEB and MSEB CRUs are not
compatible with Integrity NonStop NS16000 systems.
