If you are moving a NonStop S-series I/O enclosure from a NonStop S-series
system to an Integrity NonStop NS16000 system and want to migrate the data
online, you can perform a migratory revive if:
°
Your data is mirrored.
°
You have another NonStop S-series system or NonStop S-series I/O enclosure
connected to the NonStop S-series system.
As an overview, the necessary processes include:
°
Create a mirror of the data on the NonStop S-series I/O enclosure that is
moving to the Integrity NonStop NS16000 system.
°
Disconnect the NonStop S-series I/O enclosure from the NonStop S-series
system and connect it to the Integrity NonStop NS16000 system.
°
Change the mirror on the Integrity NonStop NS16000 system to be the primary
disk.
°
Revive that primary disk with a mirror so that the Integrity NonStop NS16000
system contains both the primary and the mirror
System Installation Document Packet
To keep track of the hardware configuration, internal and external communications
cabling, IP addresses, and connect networks, assemble and retain as the systems
records an Installation Document Packet. This packet can include:

Each new Integrity NonStop NS16000 system includes a document called a tech
memo. It serves as the physical location and connection map for the system and
describes:
Each cabinet included with the system
Each hardware enclosure installed in the cabinet
Cabinet U location of the bottom edge of each enclosure
