Cable Labeling

cabling specific to an Integrity NonStop NS1000 server are presented here.
Cable Labeling
For a general description of cable labeling, refer to the NonStop NS-Series Planning
Guide. Details about cable labeling specific to an Integrity NonStop NS1000 server are
presented here.
To identify correct cable connections to factory-installed hardware, every interconnect
cable has a plastic label affixed to each end. Extra sheets of preprinted labels that you
can fill in are also provided. This illustration shows an example of the labels that are
attached to the cable and connector and contain information about which enclosure
and connector the cable is to connect:
Each label conveys this information:
Blade Elements to IOAM Enclosure 6-6
FCSA to Fibre Channel Disk Modules 6-9
FCSA to Tape Devices 6-9
N1 Identifies the node number.
R1 Identifies the rack number within the node.
Un Identifies the offset that is the physical location of the
component within the rack. n is the lowest U number on
the rack that the component occupies.
