Blade Elements to IOAM Enclosure
Blade Elements to IOAM Enclosure
Fiber-optic cables provide communication between the ServerNet PCI adapter card in
each blade element and the 4PSEs in the IOAM enclosure. The FCSAs and G4SAs in
the IOAM enclosure then provide Fibre Channel and high-speed Ethernet links to
storage and communication LANs.
Blade Element to IOAM Enclosure and Processor IDs
Each blade element contains one processor element. The maintenance entity (ME)
firmware running in the IOAM enclosure assigns a number to each processor element
based on its connection from the blade element to the 4PSEs in slots 2.1, 2.2, 3.1, and
3.2. Therefore, fiber-optic cable connections from the blade elements to the 4PSEs in
the IOAM enclosure determine the number of the associated processor.
This table lists the default 4PSE slot and port coupling to the processor number:
Note. Only 4PSEs are supported for installation in slots 2.1, 2.2, 3.1, and 3.2 of the IOAM
enclosure for an Integrity NonStop NS1000 server.
