NonStop NS1000 Planning Guide (H06.08+)
Modular Hardware
Hardware for Integrity NonStop NS1000 systems is implemented in modules (enclosures installed
in modular cabinets). For descriptions of the components and cabinets, see Chapter 5 (page 49).
All Integrity NonStop NS1000 server components are field-replaceable units (FRUs) that can
only be serviced by service providers trained by HP.
For information about installing the Integrity NonStop NS1000 server hardware, refer to the
NonStop NS1000 Hardware Installation Manual.
System Models
The Integrity NonStop NS1000 server is a model in the Integrity NonStop NS-series of servers
and includes:
• Intel Itanium 1.3 GHz, 3-MB cache processors
• 8 processors maximum
• 4-GB or 8-GB main memory per logical processor partitioned from DDR SDRAM DIMMs
Default Startup Characteristics
NOTE: The configurations documented here are typical for most sites. Your system load paths
might be different, depending upon how your system is configured. To determine the
configuration of your system, refer to the system attributes in the OSM Service Connection. You
can select this from within the System Load dialog box in the OSM Low-Level Link.
The SYSTEM_PROCESSOR_TYPE for an Integrity NonStop NS1000 system should be specified
as NSE-P in the CONFTEXT configuration file:
