NonStop NS1200 Planning Guide
System Installation Document Packet
To keep track of the hardware configuration, internal and external communications cabling, IP
addresses, and connect networks, assemble and retain as the systems records an Installation
Document Packet. This packet can include:
• “Tech Memo for the Factory-Installed Hardware Configuration” (page 29)
• “Configuration Forms for the ServerNet Adapters” (page 29)
Tech Memo for the Factory-Installed Hardware Configuration
Each new Integrity NonStop NS1200 system includes a document that describes:
• The cabinet included with the system
• Each hardware enclosure installed in the cabinet
• Cabinet U location of the bottom edge of each enclosure
• Each ServerNet cable with:
— Source and destination enclosure, component, and connector
— Cable part number
— Source and destination connection labels
This document is called a tech memo and serves as the physical location and connection map
for the system.
Configuration Forms for the ServerNet Adapters
Fibre Channel ports and Ethernet ports on a VIO enclosure provide the functionality of Fibre
Channel ServerNet adapters (FCSAs) and Gigabit Ethernet 4-port ServerNet adapters (G4SAs)
in an Integrity NonStop NS1200 system.
To add Fibre Channel and Ethernet configuration forms to your Installation Document Packet,
ask your service provider to provide the necessary forms from the Versatile I/O Manual and follow
any associated planning instructions.
