Each label conveys this information:
Identifies the node number. One node can include up to
six cabinets.
Nn
Identifies the cabinet number within the node.
Rn
Identifies the offset that is the physical location of the
component within the cabinet. n is the lowest U number
in the cabinet that the component occupies.
Un
All but LSU: Identifies the slot location and port connection
of the component. LSU: Identifies the position of the logic
board and optics adapter pair and the port connection of
the optics adapter.
nn.nn
Refers to the information for this end of this cable.Near
Refers to the information for the other end of this cable.Far
When you replace a cable and either install or move an enclosure, be sure to update information
on the labels at both ends of the cables.
Cable Management System
Integrity NonStop NS14000 systems include the cable management system (CMS) to protect all
power, fiber-optic, and CAT5 Ethernet cables within the systems. The CMS maintains a 25
millimeter (1 inch) minimum bend radius for the fiber-optic cables and provides strain relief for
all cables.
Several Integrity NonStop NS14000 enclosures, specifically the NonStop Blade Element and LSU,
integrate CMS provisions for routing and securing the fiber-optic cables to prevent damaging
them when the enclosures are moved out and back into the cabinet for servicing.
