NonStop NS16000 Series Planning Guide (H06.11+)
located in the Service Information section of the Service Procedures collection of NTL. For details,
see:
• Changing the DHCP, DNS, or BOOTP Server from CLIMs to System Consoles
• Changing the DHCP, DNS, or BOOTP Server from System Consoles to CLIMs
CAUTION: You must have only two sources of these services in the same dedicated service
LAN. If these services are installed on any other sources, they must be disabled. To determine
the location of these services, see Locating and Troubleshooting DHCP, TFTP, and DNS Services
on the NonStop Dedicated LAN.
You cannot have these services divided between a CLIM and a system console. This mixed
configuration is not supported.
IP Addresses
Integrity NonStop NS16000 series servers require Internet protocol (IP) addresses for these
components that are connected to the dedicated service LAN:
• ServerNet switch boards in the p-switch
• ServerNet switch boards in the IOAM enclosure
• CLuster I/O Modules (CLIMs)
• FESAs, G4SAs, E4SAs, and GESAs
• Maintenance switch
• System consoles
• OSM Low-Level Link
• OSM Service Connection
• UPS (optional)
• Fibre Channel to SCSI converter (optional)
These components have default IP addresses that are preconfigured at the factory. You must change
these preconfigured IP addresses to addresses appropriate for the LAN environment:
