NonStop Operations Guide for H-Series and J-Series RVUs

In Chapter 2 under “NonStop NS16000 Series Systems” (page 37), indicated that NS16000
series servers running H06.20 or later RVUs support IP, Telco, and Storage CLIMs.
NonStop NS16000 and NS16200 servers running H06.23 or later RVUs support IB CLIMs.
In Chapter 2 under “NonStop NS2000 Series Systems” (page 36), added Telco to the list of
CLIMs supported.
In Chapter 2 under “NonStop NS1000 and NS1200 Systems” (page 38), added Telco to
the list of CLIMs not supported.
In Chapter 2, added the “NonStop NS2200 Series Systems” (page 36) section to describe
the new NS2200 system.
In Chapter 2 under “Server and System” (page 38), added references to the new NS2200
system.
In Chapter 2 under “Blade” (page 39), added references to the new NS2200 system.
In Chapter 2, made these changes to “NonStop NS-Series Modular Hardware Components
(page 34):
The Logical Synchronization Unit (LSU) applies to NonStop NS16000 series and NS14000
series systems only.
The Processor Switch, or p-switch applies to NonStop NS16000 series systems only.
The I/O Adapter Module (IOAM) Enclosure applies to NonStop NS16000 series,
NS14000 series, and NS1000 systems only.
Added support for the NonStop NS2200 systems to the IP, Telco, and Storage CLIMs.
In Chapter 3 under “Summary of Monitored NonStop Hardware Resources” (page 53),
changed “IP CLIMs” to “CLIMs” to indicate all CLIMs.
Effective with the H06.23/J06.12 RVU, solid state drives (SSDs) in SAS enclosures connected
to G6 CLIMs are supported and are serviced and managed by OSM. The SMARTSSD Wear
Gauge enables you to monitor the wear status of the drive.
Also, effective with the H06.23/J06.12 RVU, all SDDs and HDDs in SAS enclosures connected
to G6 CLIMs can be partitioned. See the SCF Reference Manual for the Storage Subsystem
for information about disk partitioning.
In Chapter 3, added new section, “Insight Control Power Management (page 58), describing
this new HP SIM plug-in that provides the ability to visualize the layout of servers.
In Chapter 6 under “Local Area Networks (LANs) and Wide Area Networks (WANs)”
(page 85), made these changes:
Added statement: “An IB CLIM contains three customer-usable Ethernet interfaces and
two customer-usable InfiniBand interfaces.
Added note stating that IB CLIMs do not provide general purpose IB connectivity for
NonStop systems and are only used as part of a Low Latency Solution.
Added note stating that all CLIMs and other I/O devices also connect to a dedicated
service LAN (also called a maintenance LAN). For more information about the dedicated
service LAN, ask your service provider to refer to the NonStop Dedicated Service LAN
Installation and Configuration Guide
In the same section, added statement: “A Telco CLIM supports the Message Transfer Part
Level 3 User Adaptation layer (M3UA) protocol.
