NonStop Operations Guide for H-Series and J-Series RVUs
• In Chapter 7 under “ServerNet and System I/O Connectivity” (page 100):
Added IB CLIM and Telco CLIM to NonStop BladeSystem◦
◦ Added IB CLIM and Telco CLIM to NonStop NS16000 series systems
◦ Added Telco CLIM to NonStop NS2000 series system
◦ Added references to the new NS2200 system
• In Chapter 7 under “When to Use This Chapter” (page 100), added references to the new
NS2200 system.
• In Chapter 7 under “Monitoring the ServerNet Fabrics Using OSM” (page 102), added
references to the new NS2200 system and modified text concerning ServerNet connectivity.
• In Chapter 9, referred to the Cluster I/O Protocols (CIP) Configuration and Management
Manual for information about shutting down a CLIM. Added this reference to “Networking
CLIMs” (page 172) in Chapter 16, as well.
• In Chapter 10 under “Processors in NonStop Systems Running J-Series RVUs” (page 121),
added references to the new NS2200 system.
Indicated that the NonStop BladeSystem server blade and NonStop NS2000 series server
blade utilize a two-core microprocessor.
• In Chapter 10 under “Monitoring Processor Status Using the OSM Service Connection”
(page 125), added references to the new NS2200 system.
• In Chapter 10 under “Recovery Operations for Processors” (page 129), added references to
the new NS2200 system and changed introductory text for systems supported.
• In Chapter 11 under “Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) Disks and Solid State Drives” (page 142),
added paragraph:
Effective with the H06.23/J06.12 RVU, solid state drives (SSDs) in SAS enclosures connected
to G6 CLIMs are supported. SSDs, as well as HDDs in SAS enclosures connected to G6 CLIMs,
can be partitioned. OSM provides support for SSDs and displays partitioning information for
HDDs and SSDs. See the SCF Reference Manual for the Storage Subsystem for more
information.
• In Chapter 11 under “Enterprise Storage System (ESS) Disks” (page 142), changed the term
“StorageWorks” to storage due to rebranding.
• In Chapter 11 under “Common Recovery Operations for Disk Drives ” (page 151), indicated
that you should refer to the installation manual for your system for instructions on how to create
an alternate system disk.
• In Chapter 15 under “Networking CLIMs” (page 172), added Telco CLIMs and IB CLIMs to this
section describing how power failures and recoveries affect these CLIMs.
• In Chapter 15 under “Storage CLIMs” (page 172), stated that a Storage CLIM with the Write
Cache Enable option selected and a local UPS on that rack can preserve power long enough
for the cached data to be flushed to disk. The WRITECACHE ENABLED option of the ADD
DISK command is described in the SCF Reference Manual for the Storage Subsystem.
• In Chapter 15 under “SAS Disk Drive Enclosures” (page 172), added paragraph:
All disk drives in SAS enclosures connected to G6 CLIMs, including any partitions they might
have, are supported by OSM. OSM will alarm and do a dialout when a SAS solid state drive
(SSD) approaches or has reached its wear-out threshold.
