NonStop Operations Guide for H-Series and J-Series RVUs

The OSM Event Viewer is used for “Monitoring EMS Event Messages” (page 77).
OSM Console Tools:
NonStop Maintenance LAN DHCP DNS Configuration Wizard — used to configure
DHCP, DNS, and BOOTP servers required for certain NonStop Systems.
Down System CLIM Firmware Update Tool — used for updating firmware/BIOS for CLIM
components during planned system down time.
OSM Certificate Tool — used for HP Integrity NonStop BladeSystems to facilitate
communication between OSM and the Onboard Administrator (OA) for those systems.
OSM System Inventory Tool — used to create an inventory file listing the hardware,
firmware, or Numeric Sensor data for one or more NonStop systems running OSM.
Apache OpenOffice a third-party product, installed as part of the OSM Console Tools,
provides a method to view spreadsheets, documents, presentations of the system console;
for example, files created by OSM in .csv (or comma delimited) format, such as hardware
inventories created by the OSM System Inventory Tool and Access Control List reports or
saved Multi-Resource Views created in the OSM Service Connection.
Terminal Emulator File Converter — used to convert OSM Service Connection-related
OutsideView session files to MR-Win6530 format.
Launching OSM Applications
Several operations tasks in this guide require you to log on to one of the OSM applications.

desired application as described below, then see the online help (or default home page, for the
browser-based OSM applications) for log-on instructions.
To launch OSM applications: Start>All Programs>HP OSM. Then select the name of the application
to launch:
