Listeners
A Listener element defines a component that performs actions when specific events
occur, usually Tomcat starting or Tomcat stopping. Listeners may be nested in a
Server, Engine, Host, or Context element. However, you cannot perform any
operations on Listener elements.
Figure 4-54 shows a screen of the Listener window.

Digest
Algorithm
Indicates the name of the MessageDigest
algorithm used to encode user passwords
stored in the database. If not specified, user
passwords are assumed to be stored in clear-
text.
