Pathway
Many DSM/SCM functions are based on the Pathway environment and must be installed on all
host and target systems. (It should be present on the system, as a limited version, sufficient for
DSM/SCM but not other usage, is included in the base NonStop OS installation.)
Software Identification (SWID)
SWID provides unique identification of all NonStop system files distributed by HP. This unique
identifier is known as the fingerprint of the file and is used to perform software inventory, version
analysis, and delivery. Each product version of DSM/SCM requires a specific product version of
SWID.
