3 Prerequisites for NonStop Software Essentials
This section describes the prerequisites for installing and using NonStop Software Essentials.
NonStop Software Essentials is composed of the following T-numbers:

T0894 – H-series and J-series SPRs are included on H06.25 and J06.14 SUTs; H02^AAB
and later SPRs are downloadable from Scout.
H-series and J-series
T0894 – G-series server component is orderable as an Independent Product (NSE01V2).G-series

Essentials Client
T0895 – Included on the HP Insight Control for NonStop DVD that ships with the HP NonStop
System Console Installer DVD, Update 17 and later; AAB and later SPRs are downloadable
from Scout.
Windows
T0996 – Included on the HP Insight Control for NonStop DVD that ships with the HP NonStop
System Console Installer DVD, Update 17 and later; AAB and later SPRs are downloadable
from Scout.
Linux
The prerequisites for installing and using NonStop Software Essentials include:
• “Windows Console Requirements” (page 9)
• “Linux CMS Requirements” (page 10)
• “NonStop Server Software Requirements” (page 11)
Incoming port 50004 on the CMS must be open for HP SIM to receive WBEM alerts and lifecycle
indications.
The Windows console or Linux CMS can be a physical server running Windows and Linux directly
on the bare metal, or a virtual server running Windows and Linux on a VM with the hypervisor
being VMWare ESX 3.5 (and later) or ESXi 4.1 (and later).
Windows Console Requirements
The NonStop Software Essentials Client component (T0895) can be installed on any Windows-based
device that meets these minimum requirements:
• A 32-bit or 64-bit system, running one of the following Microsoft Windows versions:
Microsoft Windows Server 2003 R2 Standard, SP2 (x86 version)◦
