WebLogic Server and the J2EE Platform
The ability of WebLogic Server to integrate with NonStop Tuxedo, NonStop CORBA,
and Pathway enables you to combine the best of the C/C++ and Java programming
languages for real-time applications and also serves to protect your investment in
existing systems and applications.
WebLogic Server Example
An example of how WebLogic Server is used as an application server in a ZLE
framework is provided by an HP application called the Real Time Information Director
(RTID). The RTID is a major component in several NonStop solutions, including:
•
Real Time Supply Chain
•
Real Time Health Care
•
Real Time Financial Services
To illustrate the use of WebLogic Server in the RTID application, consider an example
of the HP Real Time Supply Chain solution. The RTID application provides data
services for the Real Time Supply Chain solution. The RTID receives data from client
applications such as SAP, maps the incoming data to a particular data model, and
stores the data in the real-time data store. In response to requests from client
applications, the RTID extracts data from the data store and sends it to the requesting
applications.
Figure 3-19
on page 3-29 illustrates the components and data flow in a simplified, but
typical, RTID implementation running in WebLogic Server.
