Planning for Installation
Firewalls T2806H31 NSM/web uses both HTTP connections and direct
TCP/IP socket connections. The latter uses a set of pre-defined
port numbers during NSM/web installation. To use NSM/web
through a firewall, you must unblock the dedicated TCP/IP port
that is configured during installation in the firewall settings. You
must review the firewall settings before installing NSM/web.
CORBA NSM/web uses CORBA for applet communication to the NonStop
system. There is no impact on your client machine or your
NonStop system.
CORBA on the client machine is included in the Java plug-in, and
no special configuration is necessary. There are no daemons to
run.
Note: HP NonStop Distributed Object Manager/MP, which is a
customized version of CORBA for NonStop systems, is included in
the NSM/web installation. The included components are a small
subset of NonStop DOM and are not usable for any other
purpose. There are no daemons to run. There is no impact on, or
interaction with, any other NonStop DOM installation on the
NonStop system.
Disk space Your NonStop system must have approximately 500 MB of
available disk space to install NSM/web.
Memory NSM/web has the same memory requirement as SQL/MX on a
NonStop system running G06.23 or a later RVU (minimum 1 GB
per processor).
