3. Verify that the OSS root directory, the Web server root directory, and the Guardian
subvolume do not already contain NSM/web files.
Base TCP/IP port Description: To access NSM/web through the firewall,
two consecutive ports must be open. Base TCP/IP port is
the port that has the lesser value between the two
consecutive port numbers. NSM/web client-server
communication occurs on these two consecutive ports.
For example, if you specify 45900 as the TCP/IP port
number, NSM/web uses the TCP/IP ports 45900 and
45901.

Base Process Prefix Description: The prefix alphabet (A -Z) of the NonStop
CORBA Comm Server process name. IP addresses on
which NSM/web is installed has one Comm Server
process each. HP recommends that you avoid using the
system process name prefix characters X, Y, and Z.

DNS names Description: The Domain Name Server identification for
the NonStop system.

Note. Do not install NSM/web over an existing instance of NSM/web. If you need to
reinstall NSM/web at the same location, you must first remove the existing installation. See
Uninstalling NSM/web (T2806H31 Is Installed)
on page 1-18.
