Regulatory Compliance
A complete listing of safety and regulatory compliance statements appears in the section
Safety and Compliance in the back of this manual.
Generally, regulatory compliance requirements for electronic equipment fall into two
categories: product safety, and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC). These
requirements vary according to the state, country, and area in which your system
operates.
The compliance standards for PMF CRUs, IOMF CRUs, cables, and third-party
products are briefly discussed below.
PMF CRUs, IOMF CRUs, and 6760 ServerNet/DAs: NonStop S-series PMF
CRUs, IOMF CRUs, and 6760 ServerNet/DAs have been designed and verified to
comply with the applicable product safety and EMC regulations for the state,
locality, or country in which they are intended to operate.
Cables: Use of shielded cables, as specified in the standard Information
Technology - Small Computer System Interface - 2 (ANSI X3.131 - 1994), is required
to ensure ongoing EMC compliance for these products.
Third-party products: The end user or system integrator must ensure that any
third-party product connected to the system meets the applicable product safety and
EMC regulations for his or her region. Failure to do so could adversely affect the
overall system’s compliance levels.
