Assigning SCSI ID Numbers
Whether your system operates on a single-path bus configuration or a dual-path bus
configuration, an external device can be assigned a SCSI ID in the range of 0 through 5.
The SCSI ID for the SAC is determined by two factors:
The ID number of the SAC the SCSI device is connected to
The slot the ServerNet/DA occupies
Figure 3-5
illustrates how SCSI ID numbers correspond to SACs on a 6760
ServerNet/DA.
Note. Do not configure two devices on the same SCSI bus with the same SCSI ID. If you do
configure two devices on the same SCSI bus with the same SCSI ID, results are unpredictable.
