Managing Open SCSI Devices
This section describes how to display status information and control Open SCSI devices
Open SCSI Object States and Substates
The state and substate of a SCSI object describe the status of the Open SCSI device or
path to the device. Table 6-1 lists SCSI DEVICE object states and substates.
Viewing Status Information About Open SCSI
Devices
Use the SCF STATUS SCSI command to display status information about an Open SCSI
device. For special considerations and complete details about the STATUS SCSI
command, including command syntax, see the SCF Reference Manual for the Storage
Subsystem.
Examples
To display a summary report showing the status of all Open SCSI devices available
to the system, enter:
-> STATUS SCSI $*
To display a detailed report showing the status of the Open SCSI device $SCSI01,
enter:
-> STATUS $SCSI01, DETAIL
Example of a STATUS SCSI Summary Report
The following command produces a summary report such as the one shown.
-> STATUS SCSI $DEV0
This report shows that $DEV0 is configured with two access paths.
