SCF Commands
The STATS LINE command displays counters for all the different types of packets sent
and received on an X25AM line. For example, the following command is issued on a
line named $X251:
STATS LINE $X251
Check for unusually high numbers of RNR, REJ, RESET, and RESTART packets. The
number of call packets sent and the number of call confirm packets received should be
roughly equal. Check the screen for invalid packets that were received or discarded. If
a 6100-family controller is configured, the returned screen displays the number and
types of Layer 2 frames sent and received, as well as errors due to frame overruns, FCS
errors, receiver aborts, and the like.
The following command displays configuration information that applies to the current
X.25 subdevices and to the entire line, such as packet size, window size, and the source
address for the line:
INFO LINE $X251, SUB ALL, DETAIL
The following command displays the configuration of an X25AM subdevice as it was
added dynamically by the TSP process:
INFO SU $X251.#TSP10001, DETAIL
The screen returned displays X.25-related information taken from the Layer 3 SERVICE
object. Some common causes of problems can be easily examined on this screen.
In particular, you should look at the following items:
X25DESTADDR attribute. This attribute contains the address of the X.25 remote
address (including the desired port number appended to the end).
X25PORT attribute.
X25REVERSECHG attribute. This attribute specifies whether calls that request
reverse charges are accepted.
PTrace and Trace Analysis
You can use the SELECT L4 mask to read the file-system calls (in this case, the LCBs)
to X25AM. The following example shows a trace of a CONTROL request to subdevice
number 1 (SDN #001). This is an X25AM subdevice that TSP has opened. The type of
