Troubleshooting Example

This screen gives you the following information:
•
The transport connection could not be established (TC State) because a disconnect
request was received from the Network Layer (TC Substate).
•
File-system error 140 was returned by X25AM.
•
The X.25 diagnostic code is 129. This code is used by X25AM to indicate that no
subdevice could accept the call.
The meaning of this value is derived from two tables. The ISO Diagnostic Code
table, included in Appendix B, X.25 Status Code Tables
of this manual as a
convenience, shows that 129 is a value reserved for DTE-defined diagnostic
information. Since the remote X.25 DTE is also controlled by X25AM in this
example, the meaning of the value is determined by the Reasons for Circuit
Disconnection table in the X.25 Access Method (X25AM) Manual, which is also
included in Appendix B, X.25 Status Code Tables of this manual as a convenience.
If the remote DTE is not controlled by X25AM, you need to find the meaning of the
value in the documentation from the manufacturer of the remote DTE.

The X.25 disconnect reason (four words, 8 0 3 0) confirms the information you
already know. The first word (8) means that you received a clear packet. The third
value (3) means the line is up. (The Reasons for Circuit Disconnection table is
