OSI/TS Configuration and Management Manual
Abstract
This manual is intended for programmers, system managers, and system operators. It
describes how to write Transport Layer applications that use the Compaq OSI/TS
software to communicate with remote transport users across an OSI network. It also
describes how to configure the Compaq OSI/TS subsystem and how to diagnose
configuration and performance problems.

This manual supports D-series release D43 and later, and G-series release G06.05 and
later.
Document History
New and Changed Information
The G0605 release of software on the S-series servers TLAM, which implements the
services of the data link layer and below for LANs, has been replaced by the Port Access
Method (PAM). Information about PAM is spread throughout the manual, but general
notes about this change may be found in Software Architecture
on page 1-5 and in PAM
Configuration Considerations on page 3-7.
Information on G-series software changes can be found in Section 1, Introduction
.
The name Tandem has been replaced by Compaq where appropriate.
