Example 2: Locally Defined and Binary Syntax DSP
length. The meaning of each DSP value in this example is determined by the addressing
authority for country X, and are as follows:
The same address, represented in the nonstandard format used by the addressing
authority for country X, might be as follows:
39.999.0100000000.FF00.08008E0002E3.01
Example 2: Locally Defined and Binary Syntax DSP
Figure 2-5 shows the second example NSAP address and its components.
The AFI in this example is 49. Table 2-1
shows that an AFI value of 49 identifies the
IDI format as locally defined and the DSP syntax type as binary.
Table 2-2
shows that a locally defined format has a null IDI length.
The DSP is the rest of the address. Table 2-3
shows that the binary DSP syntax for a
locally defined format can have a maximum of 15 octets; this example has the maximum
length.
This Position ... Means (in Country X) ... And Has This Value in This Example ...
1 octet Version number 01
4 octets (reserved for future use) 00000000
2 octets Subdomain identifier FF00
6 octets Subnetwork-dependent
identifier
08008E0002E3
1 octet Selector 01
