Single TSP Process Supporting Multiple X25AM
Lines
The application and the application environment allow the possibility of distributing
the load (in terms of the number of connections or the aggregate bandwidth) over
the underlying hardware and software components.
The application environment requires the hot standby approach to provide fault
tolerance. (The hot standby approach is one in which an identical system is ready to
take over if a system fails, but otherwise does no processing.)
Single TSP Process Supporting Multiple X25AM Lines
In this configuration, multiple X25AM lines are controlled by a single TSP process.
Figure 3-4 illustrates this type of configuration.
Since transport connect requests can arrive on any of the lines at any time, there must be
at least one transport attach outstanding on one of the TSP subdevices for each X25AM
line.
The following subsections contain a discussion of the advantages and limitations of this
type of configuration and an example command file.
Advantages
The most obvious advantage is that this is a simple configuration. The operation and
management of one TSP process is straightforward.
