ObjectMAP – The Understanding 25
3-2 Map Views
ObjectMAP offers two alternatives for viewing object states – Subsystem View and Group View. The two views
allow the user to customize the hierarchy in which objects are viewed. For both these views the level of
hierarchy at which the object state needs to be viewed can be selected using the Select Levels dialog box. The
dialog box can be accessed using the View - Configure Levels menu option.
Selecting Subsystem View allows the user to view the object in a hierarchy where Node is the highest entity in
the hierarchy and the Object name is the lowest. Whereas, in Group View the user-defined groups followed by
sub-groups are seen at the highest level in the hierarchy. For both these views the level of hierarchy at which the
object state needs to be viewed can be selected. By clicking on the check boxes the user can select or deselect
the levels at which the object will be viewed. This way, ObjectMAP can be used to focus on critical objects
based on specific business requirements, irrespective of the views being used for monitoring.
