Subsystem Managers
Configuration components in systems running H-series RVUs have these functions:
Subsystem Managers
Each subsystem manager performs these functions:
Creates I/O processes and other manager processes within the subsystem.
Configures subsystem objects such as adapter hardware and the ServerNet
addressable controllers (SACs) that those adapters support.
Identifies the names of processes that must be reserved at system load.

Component Functions
CONFIG system
configuration database
Contains information about the placement and characteristics
of all system components. The database file is located on the
$SYSTEM.ZSYSCONF subvolume.
$ZCNF configuration utility
process
Is the database server for the subsystem managers.
Controls access to the system configuration database.
Manages requests for information about the CONFIG file.
Starts and maintains the $ZPM persistence manager.
$ZPM persistence
manager process
Starts and maintains persistence of subsystem managers.
Starts, stops, and (optionally) restarts generic processes.
Coordinates system load and processor reload activities.
Subsystem managers
such as $ZZLAN and
$ZZSTO
Configure and control subsystem devices.
