Understanding Naming Conventions in the SCF0000
File
Copy the STARTCOM and STARTSCF files on the $SYSTEM.ZSYSCONF
subvolume and make changes to these copies to create your own command files.
With a few exceptions, SCF objects in the SCF0000 file follow naming conventions that
suggest their physical location in the enclosure. After you have verified that your
system is in working order, you can rename most SCF objects. The exceptions are:
The $SYSTEM, $DSMSCM, and $AUDIT disks must not be renamed.
These processes and devices used by OSM must not be renamed:
LANY $ZTCP0 $ZTNP1 $ZTCP1
$ZPRP0 LANX $ZTNP0 $ZPRP1
$ZOSM $ZCMOM $ZOEV
The generic processes configured by the SCF0000 file in the CONFBASE file
should not be renamed. For example:
$ZZKRN.#CEV-SERVER-MANAGER-P0 $ZZKRN.#MSGMON
$ZZKRN.#CLCI-TACL $ZZKRN.#OSM-APPSERV
$ZZKRN.#NFS-QIO $ZZKRN.#QIOMON
$ZZKRN.#OSM-OEV $ZZKRN.#SCP
$ZZKRN.#ROUTING-DIST $ZZKRN.#TFDS
$ZZKRN.#SWAN1-SNMP $ZZKRN.#ZLOG
$ZZKRN.#SP-EVENT $ZZKRN.#ZTCP1
$ZZKRN.#ZTCP0 $ZZKRN.#ZHOME
$ZZKRN.#ZEXP $ZZKRN.#ZZKRN
$ZZKRN.#ZZLAN $ZZKRN.#ZZSCL
$ZZKRN.#ZZSMN $ZZKRN.#ZZSTO
$ZZKRN.#ZZWAN $ZZKRN.#OSM-CIMOM
$ZZKRN.#CEV-SERVER-MANAGER-P1
To display these generic processes names:
-> SCF NAMES $ZZKRN
Understanding Naming Conventions in the SCF0000 File
The SCF0000 file-naming conventions for many SCF objects (except for those objects
that cannot be renamed, as listed previously) are listed in Table 1-3 as well as in the
file $SYSTEM.ZSYSCONF.SCF0000.
