Command Dictionary Table 2-1 lists the HLSTAP commands. Details on using these commands are
presented in the command dictionary that follows this table. Presented in alphabetic
order for ease of reference, the command dictionary describes the individual HLSTAP
commands. The entry for each command includes an introductory paragraph telling
what the command does, an explanation of the command syntax, a list of
considerations, and one or more examples.

Command Description
ASSUME Sets default line-name for expansion of LU specifiers
CMDSYS Sets system name default for file-name expansions in commands (except
OBEY)
CMDVOL Sets volume name default for file-name expansions in commands (except
OBEY)
CODESET Sets character set (ASCII/EBCDIC) for text display
DESELECT Removes LUs from LU selection list
ENV Displays current environment
EXIT Exits current OBEY file or program
FC Fixes the last interactive command
FILES Displays the file names in a subvolume
FROM Sets the current trace file source
HELP Displays help information
INFO Returns session-configuration information
LOG Directs HLSTAP to copy input and output to a file
NEXT Retrieves the next item(s) that match the SELECT criteria
OBEY Reads commands from a specified file
OBEYSYS Sets system name for OBEY file-name expansions
OBEYVOL Sets volume name for OBEY file-name expansions
RECORD Positions and displays specified records
SELECT Adds LUs to the LU selection list
SYSTEM Sets system-name for all file-name expansions
VERSION Displays HLSTAP version banner
VOLUME Sets volume-name for all file-name expansions
