SNAX/HLS Diagnosis and Support Manual

Appendix D Conversion of RDT Files
104706 Tandem Computers Incorporated D–1
The conversion program, HLSCRDT, is provided as a convenience tool to simplify the
process of converting RDT environments (created prior to the C20 release) to text files
suitable for submission to the HLSRDT program now in use.
Prior to the C20 release, versions of SNAX/HLS employed an RDT maintenance
procedure involving a key-sequenced file, an Enable generated Pathway application
(called RDT-MENU), and a conversion program to translate the key-sequenced file
into the form needed by SNAX/HLS. The standard distribution included two sets of
RDT tables: one set in key-sequenced form and the other set in compiled form.
Instead of the two sets of RDT tables, the current distributions include files listed in
Table D-1.
Table D-1. RDT Table Files
File Function
RDTTEXT Is an EDIT file defining the standard RDT database, suitable to be an IN file to the
HLSRDT program. Only a subset of the older RDTKSFLE is provided.
RDTDATA Contains the results of compiling RDTTEXT.
ISPTEXT Is an EDIT type file defining the RDT database used by the Independent Study Guide,
suitable to be an IN file to the HLSRDT program. The data provided is that required
by the study guide.
ISPDATA Contains the results of compiling ISPTEXT.
Because your installation might have modified or replaced the original RDTKSFLE, a
conversion program is provided that converts the key-sequenced form of the standard
tables to create the needed EDIT file.
