SQL/MX 3.2.1 Installation and Upgrade Guide (H06.26+, J06.15+)
1 Preparing to install SQL/MX
Before you install SQL/MX Release 3.2.x, check that you have met the following installation
requirements:
• “Hardware requirements” (page 12)
• “Software requirements” (page 12)
• “Starting TMF” (page 13)
Hardware requirements
Before you install SQL/MX Release 3.2.x, your Integrity NonStop server must meet these
prerequisites. You must install SQL/MX Release 3.2.x software from an H-series or J-series RVU or
SPR on a NonStop server running Open System Services (OSS).
Minimum RequirementHardware
Minimum three disks:Disk
• $SYSTEM disk
• SQL objects disk
• TMF audit disk
• Recommended: Minimum 6 disks to include mirrors for the 3 disks
Disk space
• 2 GB of OSS file space
• 3 GB of $SYSTEM disk
• 200 MB for the compressed and uncompressed NonStop Server for Java .tar
files

A minimum of 4 GB for each processorMemory
Software requirements
To use SQL/MX Release 3.2.x, you must install the Site Update Tape (SUT) for the H06.25, J06.14
or a later RVUs on your Integrity NonStop system. For more information about installing the NonStop
system software, see the NonStop Software Installation and Upgrade Guide for H06.25, J06.14
or later RVUs.
The H06.25 , J06.14 or later RVUs contain the correct product versions for these key software
products that are used with SQL/MX.
NOTE: When you install the SUT, the installation automatically copies the files for these software
products, along with other SQL/MX executables, libraries, and OSS files, to their default locations.
